The Stop COVID Deaths: Clinical Management Updates Webinar Series of the UP System’s TVUP, in partnership with the UP Manila NIH National Telehealth Center, won the Silver Quill Awards in the COVID-19 Response & Recovery, Management, and Communication category.
The Silver Quill Awards honor the outstanding work of communication professionals from across the Asia-Pacific region. A total of 23 entries by business communication professionals in Australia, India, and the Philippines have been recognized with Awards of Excellence for demonstrating strategic acumen, innovative thinking, and creative skills that deliver important results and significant outcomes.
The Stop COVID Deaths Webinar Series, hosted by Dr. Susan Pineda Mercado, Adjunct Faculty of the UP Manila-National Telehealth Center, and by Dr. Raymond Francis R. Sarmiento, Director of the National Telehealth Center, features engaging and diverse webisodes that remain relevant to the community.
“We have transitioned to broader discussions on how the pandemic has affected health outcomes beyond COVID-19. We have maintained the title Stop COVID Deaths, but now the C.O.V.I.D. is an acronym that stands for: C for current COVID-19 problems, O for other outbreaks, V for viruses, I for infections, and D for diseases, “said Professor Maria Angelica Abad, Assistant Vice President for Public Affairs and Director for Alumni Relations UP System, co-hosting the Stop COVID Deaths Webinar Episode 118 on behalf of Dr. Mercado, when she announced the Silver Quill awarded to Stop COVID Deaths.
She added that the Stop COVID Deaths Webinar Series takes a closer look at other emerging health problems in the community while we keep an eye on COVID-19 developments here in the Philippines and in the rest of the world. It brings the best health experts available from its extensive network of clinicians, hospital administrators, and researchers, bridging the gap between clinical management, knowledge, and practice.
The Stop COVID Deaths Webinar Series recently won the prestigious 2022 Gold Quill Award of Merit from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). All Gold Quill entries from the Asia Pacific region earning a score of 5.12 automatically become winners in the IABC Asia Pacific Silver Quill Awards and get an Award of Merit, while those entries scoring 5.25 and above are recognized with an Award of Excellence. The winning entries, which were entered into IABC’s 2022 Gold Quill Awards, meet the IABC’s 7-Point Global Scale of Excellence as evaluated against a stringent set of rubrics by seasoned communication professionals from different parts of the world. Each winner will receive a 2022 Silver Quill Award certificate.
