The designation of the Philippine General Hospital as a COVID-19 referral center created a great need to fully augment the supplies and services of UP-PGH in real time. To ensure the continuous provision of healthcare services to the Filipino people and to coordinate efforts during this state of national health emergency, UP President Danilo L. Concepcion, UP Manila Chancellor Carmencita D. Padilla, and PGH Director Gerardo Legaspi, launched the UP-PGH Bayanihan Na! Covid-19 Operations Center last March 30, 2020.

The transparency afforded by this system assures our donors and end-users about the institution’s capacity to respond to the surge in COVID-19 admissions in the coming weeks. It also provides real-time information that can be used by UP-PGH to secure immediate needs or seek specific items that are required for the hospital to be most effective in its efforts to contain the virus.
