She was recognized for being a consistent role model of what a teacher is: content expert, facilitator of learning, mentor, and passionate researcher, academician, and administrator. Her ability to motivate students and colleagues to stretch their potentials and efforts and share her expertise was cited. Prof. Sana is a most sought-after resource speaker for teacher training of local and international institutions like health sciences school, colleges and universities, specialty boards, and professional organizations in charge of education and training, such as the Department of Health and World Health Organization. Her invaluable services as an educational consultant, evaluator and researcher, and her untiring dedication to health professions education has put the National Teacher Training Center for the Health Professions and UP Manila in the ambit of all involved in the training of health human resources.
ERNA C. AROLLADO, PhD
Outstanding Researcher
Prof. Arollado was chosen for her body of work that clearly exemplifies one of the thrusts of the National Unified Health Research Agenda of 2017-2011, “Holistic Approaches to Health and Wellness” with her search for effective, safe, and acceptable alternative Filipino healing modalities and their translation into products and services of public value. She is an established natural products researcher highlighted by her work on HemoxytherTM, a supplement for iron augmentation in anemia and other hematologic disorders. She has 12 publications on diverse topics, from the anti-angiogenic activity of extracts to the anti-head lice ointment made from “makabuhay”. She also did a comparative analysis of various plants for their antioxidant and antibacterial properties.
MARIA STEPHANIE FAY SAMADAN-CAGAYAN, MD
Outstanding Faculty in Extension Service
She has pioneered ‘Sayuntis” (Sayaw ng Buntis) that aims to awaken this unique feminine power of childbirth through belly dancing indigenized into our own culture that gained her recognition locally and internationally. She has expanded and increased her advocacies’ reach though broadcast and social media as an obstetrician-gynecologist, pharmacologist, health advocate, dancer, and broadcaster that allowed her to visit underserved areas of the country. She participated in the different activities of her Catholic charismatic community and is active in the Gawad Kalinga, conducting medical missions, and giving public health lectures to the less fortunate.
LILIBETH M. EUSEBIO
Outstanding REPS
Ms. Eusebio has been demonstrating competence in research and extension service while keeping herself updated with advances in her field by doing extensive research and development on several population-based studies. One such project is entitled “Epidemiologic Assessment of Avoidable Blindness and Diabetic Retinopathy in Region III” that was accepted for oral presentation at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology Annual Meeting in Baltimore, USA. She is also actively involved in the project “Assessing the Knowledge, Attitude, and Practices of Patients with Diabetes Regarding Care in Region III of the Philippines” as survey team leader and research assistant. She led the completion of the REPS Profile 2018 and initiated a workshop to develop a research proposal relevant to the REPS’ field of expertise and aligned with the university’s evidence-based practice as president of the UP Manila Research, Extension, and Professional Staff Association.

LORINA T. ALCID
Outstanding Administrative Employee (Level 2)
Ms. Alcid played an integral role in laying down the ground work and continuously building the infrastructure necessary to usher UP Manila into the Information Age. She was actively involved in implementing the Fiber Optic Campus Backbone, its “nodes” upgrading/retrofitting and the current bandwidth speed upgrade through new cabling and equipment. She played a key role in implementing an Integrated video-conferencing system that includes Webinars, Live-streamings, and Point-to-Point and Multi-point conferences and the Student Academic Information System (SAIS) not only in UP Manila but also in other UP Campuses as designated Project Development Associate (PDA) of the UP System. She developed the UP Manila Computerized Registration System/Student Registry System, Personnel Data Tracking System.

TRIXIE JOY T. CO
Outstanding Athlete
Ms. Co exemplifies the qualities of a true athlete, disciplined and committed in her chosen sport of badminton and balances her passion for sports with other endeavors. She won a bronze medal in the Women Singles Badminton Individual category at the 11th National Association for Local Colleges and University (ALCU Games) held at the University of Makati in March 2019 and a silver medal in the Women’s Doubles in Palarong NCR 2016.

FRINZ MOEY RUBIO
Outstanding Student
He is excellent both in academics and extra-curricular activities, graduating magna cum laude at the College of Public Health and carrying this on to his medical education at the College of Medicine where he also proved his ability to lead and serve. He is an active student leader being honorary member of the Phi Sigma Honor Society and the International Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi and holding multiple positions in the Phi Kappa Mu Fraternity through his active involvement in several projects of the fraternity over the last four years. He is a consistent recipient of the Gawad ng Dekano for Meritorious Performance award of the UPCM and winner of several local and international quiz bees, including the Respiquizz 2019 in Indonesia, Chiang Mai University 2019 Intermedical Challenge in Thailand, 8th APMCH National Medical Quiz Bee, and 13th Medical Students Summit Regional Quiz Bee, among others.

UP SANDIGAN
Outstanding Student Organization
UP Sandigan has been spearheading well-thought and carefully planned projects catering to the community, the youth, and the profession for 30 years now. It organizes a Community Health Development Program by adopting a community, specifically a barangay, in which projects are carefully planned and implemented based on the needs and problems experienced with the long-term goal of having the community achieve sustainable development. The organization has been giving students a voice amidst the social issues and representation as future stewards of the pharmacy profession and consistently providing them opportunities to immerse themselves in societal issues and do their share in furthering the development of the Filipino community.

MERRENE BRIGHT JUDAN
Outstanding Artist
Mr. Judan is actively involved in various artistic endeavors not only in UP Manila but also in different campuses of the University of the Philippines. He performs world-class classical music repertoire under the baton of renowned composer Josefino “Chino” Toledo as a first and second violinist of the UP Symphony orchestra. He organizes and performs in concerts in different UP Manila venues such as the Museum of a History of Ideas and the Philippine General Hospital as president of the UP Classical Musical Ensemble. He is a pianist, writer, arranger, layout artist, and photography enthusiast who generously shares his talents by covering events as a photographer and teaching violin performances to aspiring student artists making art accessible and available to all.
