UP Manila, Tottori University Advance Medical Education and Research

UP Manila Chancellor Dr. Michael L. Tee and Tottori University Vice President and Trustee for Research and International Exchange Prof. Seiji Kageyama lead the ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between UP Manila and Tottori University on October 21, 2025, at Calderon Hall, UP College of Medicine. Joining them in the group photo are UPCM Dean Dr. Charlotte M. Chiong and Dr. Hitoshi Otsuki.

The University of the Philippines Manila (UP Manila) and Japan’s Tottori University (TU) forged academic ties through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on Oct. 21, 2025, at Calderon Hall, UP College of Medicine (UPCM).

Presiding over the ceremony were UP Manila Chancellor Dr. Michael L. Tee and Tottori University Vice President and Trustee for Research and International Exchange Prof. Seiji Kageyama. Also present on the occasion were UPCM Dean Dr. Charlotte M. Chiong, college secretaries, associate deans, and directors, as well as Dr. Hitoshi Otsuki, Professor of Medical Zoology, Tottori University.

The partnership affirms that both universities will promote student and faculty exchange and academic collaboration in education and scientific research.

Furthermore, the two universities agreed to maintain each other’s ethical standards and institutional independence. Intellectual property rights and joint research products will ensure fair recognition and benefit-sharing.#
