Universidad de Granada Strengthens Admin, Finance Functions With Assistance from UP Manila

David García Sánchez-Leó and Ainhoa Fernández Molinero, officers of the Finance University Service of the Universidad de Granada in Spain, paid a courtesy visit on Mar. 3, 2025, primarily to get an overview of UP Manila’s main work procedures for the management of economic, administrative, and academic tasks.

They were also briefed on the use of the resources available at UP Manila and their use in accordance with the principles of sustainability and ecological activism, as well as the occupational health care of both employees and students.

The visitors were also able to discover and understand the political, economic, social, and cultural reality of the City of Manila through the appreciation of the importance of UP Manila in the city life, its impact on the cultural sector, and the influence of the university culture on local society.

After the meeting, the visitors were given a tour of the Museum of a History of Ideas (MHI).

Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance Johanna Patricia Adevoso-Cañal headed the UP Manila delegation in welcoming the visitors. She was accompanied by Healthy University Office (HUO) Director Paul Michael Hernandez, Accounting Office Chief Erwin Dando, Budget Office Chief Lovelle Saguid, Cash Office Administrative Officer Shiela Ngoho, MHI Officer-in-Charge Sophia Arguson, HUO Office Managers Ma. Sarina Magdales and Gabriel Jay Caoeng, HUO Senior Research Analyst Dexter Tiro, and MHI Documentations and Marketing Officer Justine Vince De Dios.

Prof. Geraldine Dayrit, coordinator for International and Local Linkages of the College of Public Health, hosted the activity, which was facilitated by the Office of International and Local Linkages.#
