The University of the Philippines has improved in world ranking as a university in 2016/17 according to the London-based Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).

It is now in the 374th place, up from the 401st place in 2015. This new ranking makes it the lone Philippine university among the Top 400 in the world. It is still No. 1 in the country and No. 70 in Asia.

QS said that the new ranking is due to an improvement in three metrices: academic reputation, faculty/student ratio, and international faculty ratio.
