UPM Public Health Faculty Co-Authors International Handbook on Ethical Health Research in Prisons

Dr. Romulo Nieva Jr co-authored a handbook on conducting ethical health research in prisons. This resource aims to support ethical approval processes and research design by identifying specific considerations for conducting health research in detention settings. This project was supported by the Worldwide Prison Health Research and Engagement Network (WEPHREN) and the University of Southampton (UK).

Dr. Nieva is an Associate Professor at UPM College of Public Health. He is a prison health researcher and policy analyst and has published books and research articles concerning the health of people deprived of liberty. He is a member of the editorial advisory board of the International Journal of Prison Health.
