UPM scores a perfect 100% passing rate in May 2023 PNLE

Time and again, the University of the Philippines Manila (UPM) has proven itself as the premier school for nurses, and in its 75th year, its College of Nursing (CN) has just added another diamond to its crown.

Eighty-eight (88) nursing graduates, forty-one (41) from the UPCN and forty-seven (47) from the School of Health Sciences (SHS) in the Leyte, Aurora, and South Cotabato campuses all passed the May 2023 Philippine Nurses Licensure Examination.

Ten examinees from UPCN even secured a spot in the Top 10 Passers List. They are: Cristin Pangan, Jazryl Gayeta, Vanessa Kate Manzano, Adolf Ausquin Yasa, Maria Angelica Lontoc, Tommy Jay Takada, Christell Danya Tansiongco, Audrey Ayuste, James Ordine Gunnacao, and James Ian Vargas. The UPCN, which has had a perfect passing record since 1948, also holds the paramount distinction of having its graduates pass the PNLE in only one take for 75 years.

As for the UPM-SHS, 45 of its 47 examinees were first-time takers and only two were repeaters. 15 examinees are from the SHS in Palo, Leyte, nine from the SHS in Baler, Aurora, and 23 are from the SHS in Koronadal, South Cotabato.

The UPCN and the UPM-SHS are listed as separate institutions in the Professional Regulation Commission results, explaining UPM’s absence in the list of top performing schools wherein at least fifty (50) graduates are required for inclusion.
