STOP COVID DEATHS Webinars bag 2022 internationally-acclaimed IABC Gold Quill Awards

The Stop COVID Deaths: Clinical Management Updates Webinar Series of the UP System’s TVUP, in partnership with the UP Manila NIH National Telehealth Center, won the prestigious 2022 Gold Quill Award of Merit by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).

The webinar series, now into its third year, won the Award of Merit under Division 1: Communication Management on Category 14B: COVID-19 Response & Recovery Management and Communication, with three other entries from Canada.

The Gold Quill Awards recognize and award excellence in strategic communication worldwide, honoring the communicator’s innovation, passion, and dedication with its two types of Gold Quill Awards – the Awards of Merit and the Awards of Excellence.

The STOP COVID DEATHS Webinar Series supports the promotion of the highest possible standards of care for COVID-19 patients. Seeking to protect the health system from the devastation of viral spread through information, the series has aired COVID-19 related measures and interventions since it first started on April 24, 2020.

Hosted by Dr. Susan Pineda Mercado, Adjunct Faculty of the UP Manila-National Telehealth Center, and by Dr. Raymond Francis R. Sarmiento, Director of the National Telehealth Center, the engaging and diverse webisodes remain relevant to its community as they cover the whole range of the practice of medicine and all its sub-specialties for continuing pandemic preparedness and response in the Philippine setting. It brings the best health experts  available from its extensive network of clinicians, hospital administrators, and researchers; bridging the gap between clinical management, knowledge, and practice.
