New employees oriented on UP Manila

April 27, 2023 — The UP Manila Human Resource Development Office (UPM-HRDO) conducted a five-hour virtual orientation for the new employees of UP Manila on March 14, 2023 in collaboration with some employee organizations.

The New Employee Orientation Program (NEOP) aimed to accustom the new employees to their work environment and to the rules and regulations of the university. It was attended by a total of 26 employees from the different colleges and units/offices of UP Manila.

Discussed during the orientation were UP Manila’s vision and mission, core values, and quality policy; officials and organizational structure; and the HRDO organizational structure. Also, it called for the observance of the university’s rules and regulations on wearing of office uniform and proper conduct and behavior; attendance to important university events; and strict adherence to the prescribed calendar of activities of the university.

Part two of the orientation tackled the first salary requirements, Performance Target and Evaluation, and SALN; processes and use of the University Information System (IMS) including the HRIS, FMIS, and SPCMIS; and other useful information provided in the HRDO websites.

The last part of the morning session discussed the benefits and privileges of administrative employees and Research, Extension, and Professional Staff (REPS), specifically the monetary and non-monetary benefits, leave benefits, facilities and services, government-mandated benefits, and other optional memberships open to employees.

In the afternoon session, representatives from the UP Provident Fund (Prof. Arturo Benedicto M. Ilano), All UP Workers Union-Manila (Maria Elizabeth D. Ladeza), and All UP Academic Employees Union-Manila (AUPAEU President Reginald S. Vallejoes) presented their achievements and introduced their services that will benefit the new employees.
