Former DOH Secretary Dr. Jaime Galvez-Tan and former PRC Nursing Board Member Dr. Cora Añonuevo visited the UP Manila School of Health Sciences Tarlac (UP Manila SHS Tarlac) last November 22, 2023, as part of the delegation of the Health Futures Foundation, Inc. (HFFI) to discuss possible collaboration on health facilities development in Tarlac LGUs and health human resource development via scholarships for SHS Tarlac Students.

Dr. Galvez-Tan and Dr. Añonuevo also met the students of the 2nd and 3rd Batches of the Diploma in Midwifery Program of UP Manila SHS Tarlac. During the student interaction, Dr. Galvez-Tan also met with the Campus Student Council Chairperson, Ms. Izabella Galvan, and briefly shared his student leadership experience as UP Student Council Chairperson and Student Regent in 1972. Thereafter, the visitors conducted an interactive conversation with the LGU community scholars and affirmed their aspirations to serve their respective communities through their respective Return Service Agreements.
The UP Manila SHS Tarlac Community, the Provincial Government of Tarlac, and the Health Futures Foundation, Inc. are set to have more discussions to solidify the collaboration and partnership for improving primary healthcare in the communities.
