The Department of Health (DOH) Center for Health Development (CHD) Ilocos Region and UP Manila College of Public Health Foundation, Inc. (UPCPHF) signed a Memorandum of Agreement on May 15, 2023 for the conduct of the Provincial Leadership Governance Program (PLGP).
The partnership aims to strengthen the provincial health system to produce better health outcomes for the Filipino people.
Under the PLGP, the two institutions pledged their commitment to progress faster toward attaining universal health care (UHC) through the program designed by the Zuellig Family Foundation (ZFF). Joining virtually from the DOH CHD Ilocos were Regional Director, Dr. Paula Paz Sydiongco; Assistant Regional Director, Dr. Rodolfo Albornoz; Local Health Support Division Chief, Dr. Jemuel Cardena; and UHC Coordinator, Ms. Laurence Navarro.
The UPCPHFI was represented by its President, College of Public Health Dean Fernando Garcia, Jr. He was joined by the UP CPH Health Leadership and Governance Program (HLGP) Core Team: Dr. Ernesto Gregorio, Jr., Dr. TJ Robinson Moncatar, Dr. Paul Adrian Pinlac, and Asst. Prof. Rose Abigail Duarte.
Representing the ZFF was its President, Mr. Austere Panadero, together with ZFF Executive Assistant Ms. Melanie Reyes and Local Health System Portfolio Director, Dr. Catherine Chung. (With reports from the College of Public Health FB)
