UPCM Officials Lead Inauguration of New Student Center at Henry Sy Sr. Hall

UP Manila Chancellor Dr. Michael L. Tee and Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development Dr. Jose Tecson III join students at the lounge area of the new Faculty and Student Center on the 8th floor of the Henry Sy Sr. Hall during its blessing on Oct. 22, 2025. The group posed while seated on the new chairs and tables that furnish the modern communal space.

The University of the Philippines College of Medicine (UPCM) inaugurated its new student center at the Medical Sciences Building on Oct. 22, 2025, as part of the celebration of the 43rd UP Manila Foundation Day and the 46th Anniversary of the Health Sciences Center Autonomy.

Located at the 8th floor of the Henry Sy Sr. Hall, the new student center serves as a dedicated space for students to rest, and engage in academic and extracurricular activities, reflecting the university’s commitment to holistic medical education and student well-being.

The inauguration was led by Chancellor Michael Tee and UPCM Dean Charlotte M. Chiong, university officials, faculty members, and student representatives. The blessing of the new facility was followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a tour of the new student center.#
