The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) hosted the National Finals of the 24th Philippine National Chemistry Olympiad (PNCO) on Mar. 22, 2025 at the UP Manila Theater. Organized by the Philippine Federation of Chemistry Societies, Inc. (PFCS), in collaboration with the Chemistry and Biochemistry Unit of the Department of Physical Sciences and Mathematics (DPSM), the UP Biochemistry Society, and PLM The Chemical Society, the PNCO is the most prestigious competition showcasing the brightest young minds in chemistry across the country. This year’s PNCO National marked the first time a UP-constituent university hosted the culminating event of the nationwide competition.

Four exceptional students from the Philippine Science High School System emerged as Gold Medalists: Kyush Cian Cabilino, Ogden Michael Javier, Rex Alphonse Reventar, and Mohammad Nur Casib. These outstanding students earned the honor of representing Team Philippines in the upcoming 57th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in July 2025.#
