The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nursing Student was given to Alamina D. Solaiman, a 4th-year nursing student from the College of Nursing (CN) in Feb. 2025. There were a total of 12 nominees who have shared their own stories of serving the people through their compassionate and excellent care.
All nominees of the DAISY Award were asked to submit a narrative that highlights their impactful actions during their interactions with their patients from their third year in nursing school. Solaiman said that the process for applying for the said award was simple and quick to follow, as the whole batch was informed by the College Secretary with the instructions on how to apply. Solaiman’s story revolved around her interactions with her patients and the service and care she provided since her 3rd year as a nursing student, as well as her participation in various extracurricular activities within and beyond the college.
