The UP Manila College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) and the UP Manila College of Arts and Sciences Alumni Society, Inc. (UPMCASASI) strengthened their partnership through the inking of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on May 7, 2024 at the UP Manila CAS Little Theater.

The MOU aims to further strengthen the creation of student-aid programs and services, as well as to foster a better learning environment in CAS. UPMCASASI pledged its support to CAS by providing financial assistance to qualified students. In relation to improvement of facilities, UPMCASASI will collaborate with the CAS administration in fundraising and donation projects.

“There are many activities that we can work towards, for example, we have revived the CAS Week and we would like the alumni to be involved in it, like participating in career talks, mentoring our students, helping them to find opportunities in employment and graduate school,” CAS Dean Maria Constancia O. Carrillo pointed out.

CAS Office of Alumni Affairs (OAA) Coordinator Jessalyn Martinez Basco noted that, “UPM CASASI has assisted the college through scholarships even before the pandemic.” Among the forms of assistance provided by UPMCASASI in the past were cash and in-kind donations like classroom chairs.#
