The Editorial Board of the Manila Collegian for the academic year 2024-2025 was sworn in by UP Manila
Chancellor Michael Tee in an Oath Taking Ceremony at the UPM Boardroom on September 11, 2024 at
7:00 to 8:00 AM.

declared the outgoing Manila Collegian editor-in-chief, James Sablay, as he turned over his post to the new editor-in-
chief. Jermaine Angelo Abcede, Manila Collegian’s newly sworn editor-in-chief, pledged to continue the militant mission of MKule’s 37 years in publication.

Chancellor Tee expressed his pleasure to administer the oath taking of the “future leaders.” He encouraged them to continue writing stories of social relevance, and to feature triumphant stories of UP students and graduates in order to inspire.

“You will tell stories that are so powerful to move all other students into action. Your stories are not there for us to just read; these are stories that you should envision to be a call to action,” he emphasized.

Present in the Ceremony were Dr. Johanna Patricia Caňal, vice chancellor for Administration and Finance
and Odessa Joson, director of the Office of Student Affairs.
