UP Manila, as the health science center, is dedicated to addressing the health-related aspects of poverty alleviation in support of SDG 1 No Poverty. Our commitment extends beyond poverty reduction alone; we also prioritize equitable access to essential healthcare services. Through the implementation of effective health policies, our aim is to help mitigate the adverse effects of poverty and foster sustainable development within our communities.

UP Manila as a university aiming for a high standard training research and public service unites together with its partner institutions to address the deep-rooted cause of malnutrition and hunger. The University is devoted to achieve proficiency with inclusive solutions to alleviate malnutrition and its health impact and fulfill the zero hunger initiative.

More than being an institution of health sciences for the Filipinos, UP Manila also educates and conducts researches on planetary health, marine biodiversity, and mitigation of pollution. An all encompassing university, UP Manila integrates in its curricula the study of natural sciences and offers a course on ecology of marine, terrestrial, freshwater, and estuarine environments and biodiversity - instilling in the current and future generations the value and relevance of healthy bodies of water surrounding the Philippines and marine protection and conservation.
