UP NurseLEAD Welcomes Year 3 Batch 3 Scholars

The University of the Philippines College of Nursing (UPCN), through the UP NurseLEAD program, formally welcomed the Year 3 Batch 3 scholars as they embarked on an intensive six-week training course on June 1, 2024. This new cohort of 43 nurse educators from across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao has officially begun their journey of strengthening competencies in teaching public health nursing.

The course is designed to enhance the participants’ skills in designing, implementing, and evaluating public health nursing courses, with a strong emphasis on leadership and program management. The first module, “Leadership in Public Health Nursing,” marks the beginning of their transformation into future-ready nurse leaders. This will be followed by Module 2: “Managing Public Health Nursing Interventions”, and Module 3: “Collaboration in Public Health Nursing.”

This initiative is made possible through the continued support of Johnson & Johnson Philippines, J&J Global Community Impact, dedicated module writers, and expert resource persons. The program aims to equip nurse educators with the knowledge and competencies needed to lead and manage primary care services and population-based health programs, while promoting interprofessional education and collaborative practice.

As the UP College of Nursing moves forward with this mission, the NurseLEAD program continues to invest in the future of Philippine public health through transformative education.
