Realizing the need to continually empower the UP Manila family, Chancellor Carmencita D. Padilla conducted a face-to-face consultation and “kumustahan” with the faculty, students, and staff of the UP Manila School of Health Sciences (SHS) Palo, Leyte, on August 22 and 23, 2023.

Accompanying the Chancellor were UP Faculty Regent Prof. Carl Marc F. Ramota, Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development Dr. Michael L. Tee, UPM Registrar Dr. Tristan Nathaniel C. Ramos, UPM SHS Palo Dean Dr. Filedito A. Tandinco, Jr., UPM Office of Student Affairs Deputy Director Prof. Archie Lawrence P. Geneta, and UPM Campus Planning and Development Office Chief Architect Rosalie Flores-Bernardo.

During the consultations, various concerns were raised, including issues about facilities, equipment, education and curriculum, and employee salaries and benefits.

The Chancellor allayed worries and fears and assured all parties that all their needs and concerns will be properly and promptly addressed to the best of the administration’s efforts.
