The University of the Philippines Manila Human Resource Development Office (HRDO) recognized exemplary offices and employees during its flag-raising ceremony on August 11, 2025, at the College of Nursing Auditorium, Sotejo Hall. The event celebrated the dedication, discipline, and compliance in the submission of Individual Performance Commitment and Review (IPCR) and Program/Project Evaluation System (PES) targets.

HRDO Director Dr. Michael Antonio F. Mendoza, in his welcome remarks, commended the recognized offices for their commitment to meeting requirements.

“Ito po ay isang maliit na paraan ng HRDO para kilalanin ang ating mga ginagawang kahit maliliit na bagay pero nakatutulong po sa ating adhikain bilang kawani ng gobyerno,” he said.

In the program, Chancellor Dr. Michael L. Tee  emphasized the importance of self-assessment and aligning goals with the university’s mission. He framed this through five guiding questions:

  1. What is your mission?
  2. Who are your customers?
  3. What does your customer value?
  4. What results are you trying to accomplish, and how will you measure success?
  5. What is your plan to satisfy your customers?

He noted that the IPCR and OPCR are vital management tools that should reflect collective goals.

“What you write there, we have to accomplish together,” he stressed, encouraging employees to seek support if any target seems difficult to reach. “We will provide whatever assistance we can so that, together, we can accomplish what we set out to do.”
