The Ugnayan ng Pahinungod Manila was recognized for its exemplary commitment to volunteerism after being named an awardee of the Search for Outstanding Volunteers (SOV) 2025 – Special Award for Higher Education Institutions (HEI) by the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA).

The plaque of recognition was awarded by the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency on Dec. 16, 2025, to the University of the Philippines Manila, naming it a Provincial HEI Learning Hub on Volunteerism.

According to PNVSCA, UP Manila Ugnayan ng Pahinungod earned a volunteerism mainstreaming score that qualifies it as one of the Provincial HEI Learning Hubs on Volunteerism in the Philippines. The institution implements volunteer-engaging programs, projects, and activities across instruction, research, extension, and administration, actively involving students, faculty, non-teaching staff, and stakeholders in community service.

As a Provincial HEI Learning Hub, Ugnayan ng Pahinungod Manila is also expected to share its best practices and expertise with other higher education institutions nationwide.

The SOV and Bayanihan Media Awards (BMA) Awarding Ceremony was held on December 16, 2025, at the Ayala Museum, Makati City.

The Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) is the government agency responsible for promoting and coordinating volunteer programs and services throughout the Philippines.
