UPM-SHS Tarlac EC hails new Director

Dr. Swin-Santos, new UPM-SHS Tarlac EC Director, conversing and imparting wisdom to the students.

The University of the Philippines Manila – School of Health Sciences (UPM-SHS) Tarlac Extension Campus (EC) welcomes its new Director, Dr. Catherine Swin-Santos.

Dr. Swin-Santos works as an emergency physician at Isaac and Catalina Medical Center in Balanga, Bataan, and serves as a Rural Health Physician at the Municipal Health Office in Limay, Bataan. She earned a degree in Doctor of Medicine, a Bachelor’s degree in Community Health, a Certificate in Community Health Nursing, and a Certificate in Community Health Work (Midwifery) at the UPM School of Health Sciences Palo. She also earned units in Master of Management at UP Diliman Extension Program in Pampanga and Olongapo. 

Dr. Swin-Santos advocated for student rights, welfare, and basic social services on campus as a student leader and mentor in the UPM-SHS Palo Student Council. In addition, she was also a volunteer and a community organizer who initiated medical missions and environmental protection. 

Dr. Swin-Santos participates as a member of the Bataan Medical Society, the Philippine Medical Association, and the Association of Municipal Health Officers of the Philippines.
