VCAA Bernadette Heizel Manapat-Reyes welcomes the visitors from Universiti Malaya.

Representatives from Universiti Malaya (UM) in Malaysia paid a visit to the University of the Philippines (UP) Manila on Nov. 27 and 28, 2024, for a two-day staff mobility program to strengthen the partnership between the two institutions through capacity building of their support staff. The visit entailed introducing identified offices, their functions and operations, the sharing of best practices in student and faculty engagement, human resource management, and a tour of UP Manila facilities.

The UM visitors, Medical Library Senior Librarian Norazlina Dol, Department of Pharmacology Science Officer Zalina Binti Razali, and Faculty of Medicine Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist Sharmila Devi Ramasame, proceeded to various UP Manila colleges and units where they met with college officials and key personnel exchanging information and best practices in their respective offices.  Their visits included the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology of the College of Medicine, the University Library, the libraries of the College of Dentistry and College of Nursing, the College of Public Health, and the College of Arts and Sciences.

The visit concluded with a farewell dinner, wherein the UM visitors expressed their gratitude for the university’s warm welcome and the learning experiences they have gained. They also invited UP Manila for a reciprocal visit to UM. #
