The University of the Philippines and South Korea’s Inje University signed an agreement that opens doors for joint research activities, information exchange, conferences, lectures, and student exchanges between the two higher academic institutions.
Signed on Feb. 24, 2026, UP Manila and Inje University agreed to facilitate academic exchange with undergraduate students and enrichment courses for faculty members. It also paves the way for a joint research between Inje University and the National Institutes of Health.

The agreement was signed by Chancellor Michael Tee, Dr. Jin Han, director of Inje University’s Biomedical Center, and Dr. Kimberly Benjamin, chairperson of the Department of Biology of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS).
Previously, Inje University forged a similar partnership with the National Teacher Training Center for the Health Professions. This new agreement expands the academic exchange to students and faculty members of CAS.

The signing activity was witnessed by Dr. Jung Eun Sol from Inje University Busan Paik Hospital’s Department of Dermatology, Dr. Ju Eun Sol, research professor of the Biomedical Center, Inje University, Dr. Jubert Marquez and Ma. Victoria Faith Garcia, post doctoral research fellows at Cardiovascular and Metabolic Disease Center of Inje University, Dean Ma. Teresa de Guzman of the College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Biology Chairperson, Dr. Kimberly Benjamin; Associate Dean for Research and Public Service, Dr. Dindo Cafe; Associate Dean for Planning and Development, Dr. Jay Dalet; and College of Arts and Sciences Practicum Head, Dr. Rodel Jonathan Vitor.
