The University of the Philippines Manila College of Arts and Sciences (UPM-CAS) welcomed representatives of Inje University Busan Paik Hospital on March 20, 2024 for a symposium at the Department of Biology. The visit aimed to exchange insights into ongoing research initiatives and present opportunities for postgraduate studies at their institution.
Faculty members from the Department of Biology showcased their individual research interests and ongoing projects during the symposium. Thereafter, the Inje University delegation met with Dr. Julius Andrew Nuñez, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, wherein they discussed potential academic and research collaboration.
The Inje University delegation was led by Dr. Jin Han, a Professor of Physiology and Director of Cardiovascular Metabolic Disease Center and of the National Research Laboratory for Mitochondrial Signaling, together with former CAS Biology students/alumni: Dr. Jubert Marquez and Dr. Maria Faith Garcia, postdoctoral researchers, and Ms. Jessa Flores, a PhD student.

The event was organized by the Department of Biology headed by its Chair, Dr. Jasper John A. Obico.
