CPH Faculty Underscores Importance of LGU Cooperation in Microplastics Detection in Drinking Water Sources

Asst. Prof. Enoveso-Duarte enjoined LGUs to continuously support and cooperate in the quality monitoring of drinking water.

College of Public Health (CPH) Assistant Prof. Rose Abigail Enoveso-Duarte underscored the importance of the support and cooperation of local government units (LGUs) in the process of collecting, analyzing, and detecting microplastics from drinking water sources in their locales during the monthly meeting of the Metro Manila Drinking Water Quality Monitoring Committee on Feb. 20, 2025. The monthly meeting brings together representatives from regulatory boards, water concessionaires, and the aforementioned LGUs. 

The study, conducted by Asst. Prof. Enoveso-Duarte along with Prof. Romeo Quizon, Dr. Emmanuel Baja, Ella Asuncion, and Danielle Bonita, focused on key aspects such as methodology and sampling sites.#
