Call for Ratification: New CNA between UP System admi and AUPAEU

For UP Manila Faculty and REPS only.

On 6 July 2015, a new Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) was signed between the UP System administration and the All UP Academic Employees Union. In order for it to be considered legally effective, it has to be registered with the Civil Service Commission (CSC). For it to be accepted by the CSC, it has to be ratified by more than 50 percent of the total number of faculty and REPS in the whole UP system. Hence, this whole month of August, AUPAEU officers and volunteers will go around colleges, units, and departments to hold discussions on the new CNA and being the ratification process.

According to AUPAEU, the new CNA “increased existing fringe benefits and institutionalized a grievance procedure for faculty and REPS, among others.”

The Union said that posters and other information materials on the CNA will be put up in visible spaces. It will also release a special issue of “The Academic Union”, AUPAEU’s newsletter, on Wednesday, August 5. Your unit can also schedule a discussion (10-15 mins. max) on its provisions during your regular department or college meeting.

For more information, please contact either Prof. Carl Marc Ramota (President of AUPAEU-UP Manila) or Prof. Josephine “JD” Agapito (VP for Faculty, UPM chapter) at 0998-5102450.

The AUPAEU thanks you for your support.
