“We are pleased to announce the call for nominations to the 2nd Gawad Pangulo: A Competition for Progressive Teaching and Learning Award.

The UP System competition aims to recognize faculty members who have shown outstanding accomplishments in course development and teaching. This competition will be held in two rounds.

The finalists from the first round will be awarded P50,000 each to prepare teaching and learning materials that will be presented at the second round at a UP System-wide competition event.

The Gawad Pangulo winners (maximum of three) will be awarded P150,000 each. The details of the competition are in the guidelines including the appropriate forms to be filled out by the nominees and the unit heads.

The deadline for submission of nominations to the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs is on 31 July 2015.

Please take note of the schedule of events of the competition:

31 July: Deadline for submission of materials for Round 1
01-31 August: Evaluation of entries
01 September: Announcement of Finalists
31 October: Deadline for submission of materials for Round 2
16 November: Round 2 competition and announcement of winners
