Representatives of Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) visited the University of the Philippines Manila (UPM) on January 30, 2024 and further discussed collaborative efforts towards the development of their forthcoming medical school, with a focus on laboratory facilities.
Chancellor Michael L. Tee and Vice-Chancellor for Planning and Development Jose V. Tecson III provided the BPSU representatives with an insightful tour of the modern and state-of-the-art facilities of the College of Medicine.

The UPM team presented to the guests the Anatomy Laboratory, showcasing the advanced anatomical models for the students and the Dissection In Situ Submersible Ergonomic Cadaver Table (DISSECT), which is an intellectual property initiated by Dr. Rafael C. Bundoc. The BPSU delegation also visited the Clinical Simulation Laboratory at the Henry Sy, Sr. Hall, where Dr. Marie Gillian De Luna toured them in labs featuring life-like simulations using CAE Learning Space and the hybrid mannequins.

BPSU officials expressed admiration for the meticulously planned facilities, perfectly aligned with the teaching and learning activities that have solidified UP Manila’s position as the foremost health sciences center in the country.

Chancellor Tee is enthusiastic in fostering collaborative initiatives and knowledge exchange between institutions, and this visit is part of the commitment of UP Manila to capacitate higher education institutions for conducive and optimum learning, through sharing the University’s expertise and resources and the latest advancements in medical education and technology.
