I. TUFS Short Stay Winter Program 2016 (JPN)
Application period: From September 1 to September 30, 2015 (by 24:00 Japanese time)
About: Eligible applicants are students (both undergraduate and graduate) who are currently enrolled in the university and have learned basic Japanese language. Applicants without knowledge of Japanese language cannot participate in this program.
The Program is NOT FREE. Program fee is JPY 260,000 including the costs of application, tuition, accommodation (check-in: January 6, 2016, check-out: February 6, 2016), textbooks, and a two day excursion. NOT COVERED: Transportation, flight, overseas insurance, meals, other miscellaneous expenses.

II. Session 2: UNSW PhD Scholarship (AUS)
Application Deadline: 30 September 2015* (to UP-OIL, for pre-selection)
*Note that the closing of submission of Expression of Interest to KoSASA is 15 October 2015.
About: Engineering and Science are two priority areas for 2015 (for 2016) admission. However, this doesn’t mean that students in Social Science, Humanities, Business and Economics will not be considered.

III. Second Call: 2015 MOVE UP Scholarship Grant
Application deadline: 23 October 2015 (Extended)
About: For junior or senior undergrad students. “The University of the Philippines Mobility for Vigor and Excellence (MOVE UP) Scholarship Grant aims to provide financial support to enable selected undergraduate students to take courses or do sandwich thesis research work in international Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) specially those where UP has exchange student agreements.”

IV. Semester Student Exchange Program at Maranatha Christian University (IDN)
Application Deadline: 30 October 2015 (at Office of International Linkages)
About: A one–semester exchange (February to June 2016) at the Maranatha Christian University in Indonesia. The University’s focal points are English Literacy, Interior Design, Visual Communication Design, and Fine Arts. ONLY the tuition is free at the host university.

V. The Sumitomo Foundation Fiscal 2015 Grant for Japan-Related Research Projects
Application Deadline: 31 October 2015 (by snail mail to the Sumitomo Foundation)
About: “Eligible projects can either be individual or collaborative research in the field of social sciences or humanities that is related to Japan…. The grant period is one year (April 2016 through March 2017), but can be extended by another one year maximum if required with specific reason.”
**Please pay careful attention to the requirements, esp. the ones on research topics accepted and what expenses are not covered by the grant.

About: The program offers a one-year Master’s degree at any of the UK’s leading universities including University of Cambridge and University of Oxford in the areas of public policy and international relations, peace and conflict studies, law and human rights, health and sciences, and media among others.

IX. Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme
Deadline: 01 December 2015 (Initial application)
About: The Research Grants Council of Hong Kong is now calling for application to the Seventh Round of the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme. Areas: Sciences, Medicine, Engineering, Technology, Humanities, Social Sciences, Business Studies
The fellowship provides a monthly stipend of HK $20,000 (approx. US $2,600) and a conference and research related travel allowance of HK $10,000 (approx. US $1,300) per year for a period of three years.

X. Doctor Program at Kochi University, Japan
Application Deadline: 11 December 2015 (for April 2016 Admission)
About: The Call comes from the Graduate School of Kuroshio Science, Kochi University for their Doctor Program. The program consists of thesis research and course work. All instruction is either in English or in Japanese. It is a three-year doctoral course and students will be awarded the degree Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from Kochi University after completion of the course.
