UP Manila Covid-19 Response

The impact of the COVID 19 pandemic to UP Manila spanned more than three years starting in early 2020 when the pandemic hit the country and affected all sectors and institutions, particularly health and education. It was a journey that was unprecedented in all aspects and that generated opportunities for the university and the Philippine General Hospital to wage a movement and response that was swift, science-based, integrated, and evolving with the times and challenges.
Updates

The Stop COVID Deaths Webinar series conducted in 2020 by the UP System TV UP and the UP Manila Ntional Institutes of Health’s National Telehealth Center and PhilHealth provided timely, accurate, and evidence-based updates on the prevention, screening, and management of the COVID 19 diseases.
Vaccinations

UP Manila’s response to the COVID 19 pandemic included massive efforts to encourage people to get vaccinated through information campaigns and materials, its experts giving lectures and talks in broadcast, print and social media platforms, and their membership in vaccine technical and expert panels and groups. The Philippine General Hospital served as a pilot vaccination site on March 2, 2023 and became a major vaccination site for its healthcare workers, patients, and employees.
