The 1st International Conference of Biosafety and Biosecurity in the Asia-Pacific is to be hosted by the Philippines. The theme is "Biosafety and Biosecurity Towards One Health: Challenges and Opportunities in the Asia-Pacific Region." It will be held on 25-27 March 2020 at the Crown Plaza Hotel, Manila. It is organized by UP Manila's National Training Center for Biosafety and Biosecurity (NTCBB) in partnership with its Advance Biorisk Officers Training (ABOT) graduates. International and local experts in Biosafety and Biosecurity will give emphasis on the significant role of biosafety and biosecurity towards sustainable agriculture, biotechnology, allied health, governance and risk reduction. Parallel workshops on core competencies in addressing issues and concerns and paper presentation, both oral and poster, on the challenges and opportunities in developing a culture of a safe and secured environment in academic research institutions and healthcare facilities in the country and in the region will be featured.
