OUR VISION
The UP-PGH
Women’s Desk sees itself as continuously serving women survivors of
violence in a comprehensive and personalized manner which adheres to the
national policies on women’s protection and technical standards of
excellence in health care.
OUR MISSION
The UP-PGH
Women’s Desk commits itself to:
Ø
The establishment of a Crisis Center that will adhere to
the national policies on improving family life and protecting women and
children as well as integrate diagnostic, therapeutic and investigative
intervention that meets technical standards of excellence.
Ø
The adoption of a systematic approach to the management of
survivors of violence utilizing a common screening tool, risk assessment
approach, sexual assault evidence collection kit, and a protocol for all
hospital and health care settings.
Ø
The organization of multi-disciplinary teams within the
hospital for social mobilization and networking so that other
health-related needs of women survivors of violence such as shelter,
counseling, legal advice, etc. could be referred to NGO’s, the DSWD and
other partners in the community.
Ø
The supporting of health care delivery systems that take
into account the life cycle and social context issues that affect
patients and their families’ health status and coping strategies.
Ø
The development of a memoranda of agreement with major
stakeholders and gatekeepers in the prevention and management of
Violence Against Women, including Women’s Desks of the PNP, NGO’s legal
assistance groups, the DSWD, professional societies and organizations,
civic groups and local government units. |
