Nominations to the Search will be accepted at the CSC Regional and Field Offices until March 31, 2017.

CSC Chairperson Alicia dela Rosa-Bala said that, more than rewarding exemplary performance and behavior, the Search hopes to provide a counter perspective to the negative image of government. “We hope to share stories of competence, determination, self-sacrifice, and integrity in government as a testament to the fact that many public servants go the extra mile without fanfare or expectation of reward,” she said.

"These are people who are driven by compassion and their dream of a better life for Filipinos – truly worthy to be called lingkod bayani,” Bala added.'
