MASTER OF SCIENCE IN PUBLIC HEALTH

 (MEDICAL MICROBIOLOGY)

 

Admission Requirements

Aside from fulfilling the general admis­sion requirements of the Office of the College Secretary, the applicant should meet the following requirements:

 

1. Possession of a bachelor's degree or its equivalent (degree or title from the University or from a recognized institution of higher learning).

2. Approval of the applicant's qualifica­tions for graduate work in Medical Microbiology by the faculty of the Department of Medical Micro-biology.

 

Graduation Requirements

 

1. Residence for at least one full aca­demic year immediately prior to the granting of the degree.

2. Completion of a minimum of thirty-four (34) units - (28 units of formal courses and 6 units of thesis).

3. Must pass a written comprehensive exami­nation on all microbiolo­gy cours­es taken.

4. Satisfactory completion and oral de­fense of a master's thesis.

5. Grade requirement: A weighted average of 2.00 or better in the major courses and a weighted average of 2.00 or better in all the courses taken pro­vided there is no grade of 5.00.
