IV. Rules and Regulations
1.
1. Eligibility University of the
Philippines Manila Wall Mural Painting Competition is divided into two
(2) categories:
Open Competition (Category 1) shall be open to all
Non-Professional Artists and the Students’ Category (Category 2) shall
be for the College students.
2.
Ownership All entries in each
category shall automatically become properties of the UP Manila.
3.
Specifications of the Wall Mural Painting Piece 3.1.
The Wall Mural Painting entry shall be submitted on a 24” x 36”
paper using water Media (water soluble medium) on paper (not board) and
all the winning entries shall be
painted as wall murals on perimeter walls of the University
of the Philippines Manila
campus. 3.2. The painting shall only use the UP Manila colors in their painting piece
Mixed media will not
be allowed. This means, the
use of other medium or elements other than
the specified medium will be a ground for disqualification.
3.3
The painting will be “A
Secco” painting done on dry plaster. 3.4. The winner of wall mural painting shall be provided with the
water based paints for the actual
painting of the wall mural.
3.5.All
entries must be ORIGINAL WORKS wholly executed by the contestant.
Entries which are
copies of existing works in terms of composition will be disqualified
even if they are rendered in a different style, medium, color scheme, or
even if other elements have been added.
3.6.The
entry must not have been submitted to any other contest.
4.
Submission Mechanics Entries shall be
submitted to the Competition Secretariat, University of the Philippines
Manila
5.
Registration Procedure To register for the
competition, entrant must: 5.1.
Complete the registration form downloadable from the website and
through the secretariat. 5.2.
The completed registration form shall be submitted by mail,
facsimile or through email to the competition secretariat not later than
June 15, 2010.

Once
registered, the entrant will be emailed a competition identification
number by competition secretariat. 5.4.
The competition number shall be used in the entry form attached
to the artwork. Entries
without the assigned competition number shall not be accepted by the
secretariat.
6.
Clarification and Queries The secretariat shall
be the only source of the official statements regarding this
competition. Answers to
questions shall be posted on the competition website.
7. Anonymity
and Confidentiality The only means of
identifying each participant is through the assigned competition number.
All entries shall be made without names or identifying marks or
logo
8.
Public Exhibition and Awarding of Winners The announcement of
