HISTORY
The year was 1998 when a group of Pharmacy
students felt the need for the college to have its own student
publication. They collectively proposed to the dean that they
would be allowed to form an organization that would cater to the
students’ thirst for journalism. The founding members gave the
students of the college the freedom to name the student
publication. Thus, a “name-the-org” contest was held. Several
names were suggested but the name, “pharmakon”, which is
the greek word for “drug”, was voted by the majority of CP
constituents. Hence, The Pharmakon was born.
