OPST 127: ORGANIZATION AND ADMINISTRATION IN REHABILITATION
Organization, administration and ethics; their application in occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech pathology.

OPST 131: INTRODUCTION TO COMMUNITY-BASED REHABILITATION
An introductory course on community-based rehabilitation in the context of the national health situation.

OPST 199: METHODS OF RESEARCH
Introduction to methods of research applicable to occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech pathology.

SP 100: INTRODUCTION TO SPEECH PATHOLOGY
Concepts, theories and principles in speech pathology

Credit: 3 units
Prerequisite: Sophomore standing

SP 102: ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY OF THE SPEECH & HEARING MECHANISM
Anatomical, neurological and physiological study of the vocal mechanism, background for teaching normal speech patterns.

Credit: 3 units (40 hours lecture, 16 hours lab.)
Prerequisite: ZOO 10; SP 100

SP 104: INTRODUCTION TO AUDIOLOGY
Analysis of the physical and acoustic bases of speech and hearing; background on hearing science, hearing disorders, hearing evaluation, hearing conservation and aural rehabilitation.

Prerequisite: SP 102

SP 106: DISORDERS OF ARTICULATION
Classification, diagnosis and therapeutic procedures in articulation disorders of functional or organic origin.

SP 108: COMMUNICATION DISORDERS IN LANGUAGE (APHASIA)
Diagnosis and therapeutic procedures in communicative disorders related to central and peripheral nervous system damage in adults: aphasia, dysarthria, 
and neurodysphonia.

SP 110: DISORDERS OF VOICE
The etiology, diagnosis, and treatment of organic and functional voice disorders, problems in respiration, phonation, vocal abuse, pitch modification and laryngectomy.

SP 112: STUTTERING AND ALLIED DISORDERS
Psychological aspects of speech disorders with emphasis on theoretical, clinical and experimental approaches to stuttering.

SP 114: NEUROANATOMY FOR SPEECH PATHOLOGY STUDENTS
Students of basic anatomy and functions of the central nervous system, peripheral nervous system and related structures preparatory to rehabilitation 
management of neurologically-based speech and language impairments.

The theoretical concepts of symbolic disorders of children with emphasis in variables that interfere with language learning and functions.
