Masters in Rehabilitation Science (MRS) / Masters in Rehabilitation Science (Speech Pathology) / Masters in Clinical Audiology

MASTERS IN REHABILITATION SCIENCE (MRS)

The Master of Rehabilitation Science (MRS) aims to raise standards of rehabilitation science practice by providing advanced training in research, teaching, organization and management, and clinical practice. This will contribute towards the gradual improvement not only in the number of therapists providing services throughout the country but also in the quality of the services received by Filipino patients.

Curriculum
Description of courses

Admission Requirements

The following are the minimum National Graduate School for Health Sciences requirements:

1. Good scholastic record from any recognized institution of higher learning
2. Holder of a degree in Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy/ Occupational Therapy/ Speech Pathology
3. PRC Board Certificate (for OT and PT professionals)
4. Preferably at least a 1 year of work experience
5. Undergo an entrance interview
6. Duly accomplished Application Form together with the following documents:
   * original copy of the official Transcript of Records
   * 2 letters of reference from professors, supervisors or employers
   * receipt of processing fee paid at the UPM Cashier's Office
   * certified true copy of college diploma with the seal of the university and the signature of the registrar in ink
   * birth certificate (original to be presented for verification)
   * marriage certificate (original to be presented for verification)
   * Proof of valid Professional Regulation Commission license to practice (if any)
   * 4 passport-size photos
7. For foreign applicants, additional requirements include:
   * original Transcript of Records duly authenticated by consulate/ embassy
   * certified true copy of the English translation of the diploma with the seal of the university and the signature of the registrar in ink, duly authenticated by the consulate/ embassy
   * TOEFL (or its equivalent) score of at least 500 if English is not the medium of instruction in the country of origin
   * Affidavit of support or certification of financial capability
   * Photocopy of passport (original to be presented for verification)
   * Certificate of Licensure from country of origin or acceptable proof that profession is not regulated in home country

2. Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy/ Occupational Therapy/ Speech Pathology or their equivalent Graduates of degrees other than those mentioned may also apply provided:
   * They write a letter of application stating their intention to undertake the program
   * They take prerequisites for subjects as necessary
3. Practicing as a therapist for at least 1 year
4. Undergo an entrance interview
5. Duly accomplished Application Form together with the following documents:
   * original copy of the official Transcript of Records
   * 2 letters of reference from professors, supervisors or employers
   * receipt of processing fee paid at the UPM Cashier's Office
   * certified true copy of college diploma with the seal of the university and the signature of the registrar in ink
   * birth certificate (original to be presented for verification)
   * marriage certificate (original to be presented for verification)

MASTERS IN CLINICAL AUDIOLOGY (MClinAud)

The Master of Clinical Audiology is an entry-level masters for graduates of health science degrees. The course is a two-year program that integrates basic theoretical knowledge and its clinical applications. This will cover the areas of audiologic evaluation, audiologic rehabilitation, and program development.

2. Bachelor of Science degree (health science graduates with background in anatomy, physiology and basic clinical skills will be given priority for the initial offering
3. Undergo an entrance interview
4. Duly accomplished Application Form together with the following documents:

   * 2 letters of reference from professors, supervisors or employers
   * receipt of processing fee paid at the UPM Cashier's Office
   * certified true copy of college diploma with the seal of the university and the signature of the registrar in ink
